Several stories involve this character from Venezuela's meridan culture
There are no records or documents with the name of this woman, but if the reason she is so named, and it is thanks to literature, the fascinating poem written by Venezuelan Andrés Eloy Blanco in his book -Juanbimbada- dating from 1936.
He describes a woman who was crazy and walked aimlessly near Timotes of Merida state.

Stories or legends are not left alone in a poem. A monument with a statue, park and Museum of Antiquities “La Loca Luz Caraballo” was also created, near the village of Apartaderos, on a small hill at 3,473 masl..

Its monument is part of the built heritage of the Mérida state. It is a 1967 work by the Spanish plastic artist Manuel de La Fuente.
Next to the monument is a concrete plate with bronze veneer, with the image of Andrés Eloy Blanco and his “Palabreo de la Loca Luz Caraballo”.
