#waterfowl        One of the birds that most caught my attention on the coasts of my country is the pink flamingo, its beauty and its shades vary in different pinks, they look so majestic, and their dance is spectacular, these beautiful birds from the coast of my country and other Caribbean countries are formidable, so today I present this publication as a synthesis from several publications that review, about these beautiful birds.

The pink flamingo (Phoenicopterus ruber), is a migratory bird of great importance for the regional ecosystems of the Caribbean, especially for the swamps because its biological and ecological functioning helps keep the waters in good condition, its habitat extends to vast regions of the Caribbean, including Mexico, the Antilles, the Coast Rica, Venezuela and Colombia.

It is a slender bird: the male weighs on average 28 kg and the female 22 kg. It is considered the largest flamingo in the American continent, and second in the world, surpassed by the common flamingo. The common flamingo is found in Asia, North Africa and southern Europe; In contrast, the pink flamingo of the Caribbean lives in America. Likewise, its plumage is different, since the common flamingo is pale pink, and the pink flamingo of the Caribbean is a brighter shade of pink or salmon color.

Even at the time, the common flamingo was seen as a subspecies of the pink flamingo, but later they were recognized as distinct species
