Carl-Schlieper can opener, something eternal
It is a pleasure to heed this invitation from @Henkjan by Krijger to share something #retro inspired by the publication https://yoo.rs/u/1960-1980/89590?Ysid=1 .
I remember as a child, it was common to see my father walk around the house on Sunday afternoons with a can of sardine, tomato and a round onion, waiting for my mother to take out of the boiling pot the cassava that she had put to cook, brought from the garden of our relatives in the field, taken out very early that same day.
In my mind the images come to life, my father at the table skillfully cutting the tomato and onion, then taking out of his trouser pocket a tool that he used frequently when he was in those tasks, placed the can on the table and the tool on it, giving a single blow with his hand pierced the can and then with a swaying of the hand that held that wonderful device, I saw the delicious sardines soaked in tomato sauce or otherwise bathed in oil slide on the plate, my mother approaching with a plate full of steaming cassava, placing it on the table and serving us on the plates; it seems a good indication of those episodes it's been more than 40 years and they're still very clear in my mind.

Despite the time and use that such a tool received was undoubtedly created to last, the vintage carl-schlieper solingen-germany can opener that I show, without doing any restoration, I don't know how old it will be, but what I assure you is that none of the current can openers I have seen and used come close to it in the slightest in quality in every way
