Castle vianden
During our holiday in Luxembourg we visited Castle vianden in the town of vianden. This large castle in Romanesque and Gothic style was built between the 11th and 14th century.
At the beginning of the 15th century it was the seat of influential tombs of vianden. From 1417 onwards, the castle has been in the possession of the house of Nassau.
Unfortunately by Willem 1 in 1820 the castle was neglected by selling parts of the castle and became a dilapidated place. From 1977 onwards, the castle has become a state property of the Grand Ducal family of Luxembourg and has been restored to what it once was and still is.

The castle now serves as a museum where you can learn all about the castle and therefore a tourist attraction. Like we were and it was super!
