And finally, my favorite historical point in all of Venezuela, the castles of Guyana correspond to a group of military constructions located to the right of the Orinoco River, built by the Spanish conquistadors between the 17th and 18th centuries, in order to prevent pirates, thus English, French and Dutch buccaneers, from penetrating along the Orinoco River to the interior of Guiana, in search of the riches of El Dorado.

The set consists of 2 castles.

Saint Francis of Assisi.

San Diego de Alcala.

Both today declared a National Historic Monument. These famous historical sites in Venezuela also have the appeal of their natural environments, especially admirable from the height of the fortresses.
