Giving your PC a good processor depends on what use you want to give it and I will come to bring several options with their different states of everything so I hope you can follow this until the end.

1. Intel Core i5-12400

Intel unveiled the full line of Alder Lake CPUs for desktop computers at CES 2022, introducing no less than 22 new units. In addition to high-end models, such as the 12600K and 12900K, the Alder Lake family now has some low-end CPUs. Among all of them, I can come to believe that the Intel Core i5-12400 is one of the best CPUs, especially for those looking for inexpensive CPU options. With a benchmark price of $192, the 12400 is certainly not the most affordable processor on the market, but we think it offers incredible value for money.

This processor has six cores, all of them high-performance. This means that the Core i5-12400 lacks the E-cores we've seen in many other high-end Alder Lake chips. The absence of hybrid architecture allows this CPU to work independently of Intel's new Thread Director. In fact, this Core i5-12400 does not depend on the Thread Director to schedule tasks on the correct cores. As a result, the 12400 tends to work very well on both systems running Windows 10 and those running Windows 11.

The Core i5-12400 is also a stellar gaming processor that easily outperforms many of the rival processors offered by AMD. In fact, this particular chip has proven to be faster than the Ryzen 5 5600X in gaming, which is very impressive. With the right fit, the Core i5-12400 could also outperform the last generation Core i9-11900K in gaming. In general, we can say that the 12400 is an excellent inexpensive processor that, in addition, offers good performance in games.
