We now continue with the Intel Pentium summary for those who are still interested in these options.

8. Intel Pentium Gold G7400

  • Number of CPU cores: 2

  • Number of wires: 4

  • Max Magnification Clock.: N/A

  • Base clock: 37GHz

  • Default TDP/TDP: 46W

  • CPU Socket: FCLGA1700

We've already added an inexpensive 12th generation Alder Lake processor to this compilation with the Core i3-12100. I can come to believe that it is one of the best cheap processors on the market for those who are using a 10th generation Core i3 processor or an older Ryzen chip. That said, there's another Intel processor that we think deserves a spot on this list: the Intel Pentium Gold G7400. This Pentium series processor is powerful enough to deliver performance similar to that of the Core i3. In addition, it is among the cheapest CPUs that can be found in 2022.

In terms of specifications, the Intel Pentium Gold G7400 has two cores and four threads, based on the 10nm Golden Cove core architecture. This is an entry-level dual-core processor that stands up against many of AMD's Athlon processors. Offers a clock speed of up to 37 GHz and 6MB of L3 cache with a power consumption of 46W. However, despite being an Alder Lake chip, it doesn't come with the hybrid combination of P and E cores. That's reserved for more advanced models, however, the overall performance of the Pentium Gold G7400 is still very satisfactory.

In terms of memory, the Intel Pentium Gold processor G7400 supports DDR4-3200 and even the new DDR5 memory with a frequency of up to 4800. In addition, the new Pentium Gold G7400 processor also supports PCIe Gen 5, making it more future-proof than almost all other competing chips in this price range. The Pentium Gold G7400 processor also comes with Intel UHD 710 graphics, which should be sufficient to handle basic day-to-day graphics requirements.
