Son trozos de cerdo, puerco o cochino como se le llama en mi natal Maracaibo, fritos en abundante aceite caliente ,con un toque de sal y pimienta bien tostados y crujientes. El secreto de este rico plato radica que mientras más grasa posea el trozo de chicharrón de cerdo más exquisito es.
Se acompaña con la típica arepa de maíz y un trozo de queso blanco y se adereza con unas gotas de limón.
Cuando se viaja por carretera es muy común ver pequeños restaurantes donde se ofrece este apetitoso plato.
