The best traditions are at Christmas

Christmas is the time when all people agree to decorate the street, it is a community task because with the collection of money they proceed to buy lights and some decorations to place on the street. This is apart from the decorations that families can make inside their home, such as placing a Christmas tree (artificial) and decorating it to suit everyone.

There are people who like to make their own Christmas decorations and thus create something unique that highlights the tree, such as the image above, there are book decorations and to be honest, I love the way they look, you can make flowers with rolls of toilet paper or you can simply buy the ornaments in stores.

Many families create births and place them outside their homes so that people who pass by can appreciate the decoration In Venezuela we usually hold a family reunion where we share our food and eat the typical Christmas dish, which is hallaca, ham, leg and salad bread.

Christmas is a very special event that brings family unity and the bonds of friendship are strengthened In all the streets and cars you can hear bagpipes that have become a tradition of Venezuelan families. There are many other traditions, such as listening to a narrator on the radio who is counting down the seconds to shoot (at which point the clock marks 1200am and a new year begins).

In the following link you will be directed to a page containing the best bagpipes in Venezuela.
