Cloud in a bottle, easy and fun!

Science can be fascinating for children if we get it closer in a practical and fun way.

For example, do you know how to explain to your child how clouds form? With an experiment!

We will need the following materials....!

1) A glass or plastic bottle

2) A cork or tape

3) Alcohol

4) One air pump

We'll have to follow the following steps.

a) First you need to open your bottle and pour a little alcohol into it. A couple of teaspoons will suffice.

b) Now turn the bottle so that the inside is completely covered with alcohol.

In addition, in this way you help alcohol to begin to evaporate into the bottle. Give it several turns and make sure the alcohol permeates the whole bottle well inside.. Alcohol, remember, also gives off a series of molecules.

It can be done with water, yes, but it will take longer to create your cloud. This is a much faster way to do it.

c) Close the bottle with the cork. You can use tape, but it must be tightly closed. If some air escapes, you won't be able to create your cloud.

d) Now we need to pump air into the bottle.

Use your air pump with which you inflate the balls. Also, to better see the cloud, I recommend you put some color underneath, as the cloud will be white. It can be an eva sheet or a colored cloth.

And finally, squeeze your air pump well against the opening of the bottle. And fireman air, about 10 times... count and you'll notice that your bottle is full of air. So, it's time, you need to drop the bomb quickly..

You'll be wondering how all this happens, then. The reason for using alcohol in this experiment is that it evaporates before water. Alcohol molecules are quickly impregnated into the bottle. You can do the experiment with water, but it will take longer to get your cloud.

By pumping air, you made the molecules that make up the alcohol disperse. When you quickly removed your pump, you released the pressure, the air cools down, and water or alcohol vapor condenses creating droplets.. Humidity condenses and cloud is created! What you see is the water vapor inside the air... and the clouds are basically that: condensed water vapor.
