Collect Space Junk
#Ciencia Empty rocket bushings, huge dead satellites, pieces of glass and tiny shells of paint are floating in space, are part of a virtual “dump” composed of more than 7,000 tons of space debris. That is the number of objects that have been discarded since the beginning of the space age.
Most objects launched into space remain in orbit around the Earth, threatening to collide with active satellites which, among many other things, are vital to our internet and mobile phone communications.
It has already happened, demonstrating that even small fragments of ships discarded in orbit, traveling thousands of kilometers per hour, can cause catastrophic damage. #science
