Corfu: Agios Spyridonas and Antinioti Lagoon
We want to take an hour and a half walk along the north coast and the nearby lagoon.
Agios Spyridonas is pretty quiet. The road runs dead on the beach and the rocky coast a bit further away. You can see the mountains of Albania pretty close.
According to our walking guide, we need to cross a bridge beyond the beach, where we have a view of the lagoon. A lagoon that would attract a lot of waterfowl.
We do have a nice view, but there is no waterfowl to be seen. A few big crabs and some fish.
According to the walking guide, we have to go right past the bridge, to continue our way across the rocky coast. However, the road is trimmed with barbed wire. We try to go to the right a little further, but all possible paths seem to be overgrown. We don't run into a single walker either. So we walk where we can with the “we'll see where we're coming from.”. If you stay along the coast, you can barely get lost. That way we get to several deserted beaches, every time we turn to the coast.
