Corona measures confusing and not clear
Corona measures confusing and unclear.
Ever since the outbreak of the Corona virus in China, I have been following the virus very closely. Then did not realize that it would lead to a global outbreak but because I thought, “Dear help, it will only happen to you”. I am not one of those who did not take the virus seriously or underestimate it. That it was really serious that was pretty soon clear to me. Then it broke out in Italy and then I really started to worry because I know the area where the outbreak took place and I put that area next to the area where I live and thought “if it can go around like this then it won't be any less here” and then I just looked to the geographical layout of the cities and villages there and here. And from the start of the measures, I have been following them carefully. Although I was surprised at the fact that the national borders began to apply again. When measures were taken here just across the border because the Covid-19 virus had “landed”, these measures ended at the border and I wondered if the intelligent virus was also intelligent enough to respect national borders and not cross them. I would have thought it would have been more logical if we had drawn a circle around the place where Covid-19 had been found and that they had been working across borders. I think that Limburg would not have been as affected as it was now. Covid-19 is smart, but it has little respect for national borders.
And although I am already quite Coronamoe I still follow certain aspects and I am increasingly surprised at certain things. Now I have to admit that I'm not doing bad with my family and that I think this is largely due to the way we were living our lives before the outbreak. So a lot of things that people are confronted with now do not “touch” us personally but that does not mean that I do not see the struggle that other people are going through and I quite understand certain things very well. I expected a lot of people to run into themselves, and they do. If materialism is important to you and that now falls away “what life purpose do you still have?” And if your social life determines your identity and that falls away who are you? This also applies to people who linked a certain status to their job, etc. People are being thrown back to the basics of existence, and the farther you stood for Corona, the harder they have it now. If you thought you were above someone else then you notice that you are being “punished” and that is difficult to deal especially if you have not or little concerned with who you really are and what your real “value” is to humanity then I can very well imagine what these people are struggling with.
But besides the personal struggles, I also see people's struggles with the coronameasures. And I understand that people struggle with it because they are not clear and often frankly confusing. I'll tell you what I mean.
1. “People go massively to the beach, the forest or the residential boulevard”. It revolves around the word MASSAL. The use of that word massively is not correct in my opinion. People don't go anywhere massively. People go to the beach with their partner or alone or with the family etc. The couple thinking about taking a walk on the beach or picking out a kitchen goes just the two of us. They don't know that at the same time other people want to take a walk or also choose a sofa set or floor covering on the residential boulevard. I assume they have no complaints that require them to stay inside and so they MUST go too. And that applies to all the other couples, individuals and families who go out there. In the Netherlands an intelligent lockdown has been chosen, but if people follow the rules it does not mean that they have telepathic abilities and know what someone else is going to do. That a lot of people go to the beach or to the park is not so crazy. I think it is strange that we have not yet come to the conclusion that we may not have properly organized the nature reserves in the Netherlands. I live in an area where space is enough in terms of green and nature while I also live in an area where relatively many people live but if you live in the Randstad in the big cities this seems to me a different story. It would be unfair if, with a roof terrace and a garden and enough green around me, I would point out to the people who do not have it and who, on a beautiful day with the family, will look for that space. The same goes for the residential boulevard. In the Netherlands it has been chosen to center residential stores and it is often the case that the affordable and large shops sit together on such a residential boulevard. Where should people who want to buy a kitchen or furniture go? The shops are open so people can go there too and once again, as long as they adhere to the rules, these people do nothing wrong. The fact that I don't need anything and therefore I don't have to go and that's why I can't be found on a residential boulevard doesn't mean that I don't need other people either.
2. The one and a half meter of society is something like that. In my own house or garden I can visit 2 people who do not belong to my household but then we have to keep one and a half meters away from each other. If I were to sit in a park, I would be sitting together with a lot more people - of course, one and a half meters away - and then there is nothing wrong. If people with 10 neighbours or friends sit in front of their front door and they place the seats 1.5 meters apart then that's fine but if you want to do the same on the other side of the front door then that is not allowed. That's weird, too. I understand how this makes people itchy and impatient.
