Corona rules or Jesus rules?

Need toilet paper? There is plenty of

A lot of people are now hoarding heavily, afraid they will find empty shelves.

Especially hygiene products, such as hand soap, but also toilet paper are great favorites.

I still have enough of my own.

But if necessary, I also have an abundance of kitchen rolls, which can serve as toilet paper.

Emergency breaks the law.

Easter, Jesus' sacrifice!

We are on the way to Easter - Yes. The commemoration of the suffering and the resurrection of Christ is coming. It's the 40-day time. A time that is ideally suited to reflect on what the Messiah (The Redeemer) has done for us.

We can be really worried about Corona and hoarding and stocking up supplies of food and anything you can think of.

Much can happen and fear can befall us, because there is a chance - and is very real - that we will get complaints ourselves.

So concern in itself is quite understandable and we must certainly be careful.

I'm not trivializing the situation. I understand it's serious, but on the other hand, every day people die of all kinds of diseases, accidents or murder and manslaughter. So it's okay to stay a little sober.

Hoarding or not?

Hoarding is not necessary, because stocks continue to be replenished regularly.

The distribution centres are full of toilet paper and other food.

And maybe there are some hamsters to be found that want to pick up a grain.

Our destination

Let not be guided by fear, but by the Holy Spirit of God. We don't have to be afraid. It's written more than 365 times in the Bible, so God attaches great importance to it. He cares for us and Christians have an eternal destiny with Him in heaven.

We're not going to die, but we're only moving from one place to another. Call it emigration, because we're going to a completely different place.

Fasting and praying

We may dwell on that in this time of agony. This is ideally a time to remember and fasting. A lot of Christians are fasting at this time. That can be done in many ways. It can be done by leaving alcohol, leaving the TV off, being less on social media, but also by leaving food.

Jesus fasted 40 days and nights before He began His public ministry. He didn't eat, but he didn't drink either. As the Son of God - so 100% God, but also 100% human - He could.

For us it is not wise not to drink, but 40 days of not eating is feasible. Or what else is possible is to eat much less and, for example, leave the morning and afternoon meals during the day and eat only hot in the evening.

Hoarding or praying?

The big advantage is that you do not need to stock up on large stocks of food or toilet paper. You consume less and you have a lot of extra time to think about what Jesus did on the cross for you.

To worship Him, to read His Word, to listen to worship music, to tell others about Him and to write about Him.

And if you do not yet know Him as your Savior and Savior, at this time you can also think about the fact that He loves you very much. That He knocks at the door of your heart and waits for you to open up and put your life in His hands.

In short, that you come to repentance and repentance, so that your future is safe with Jesus, no matter what happens.

Not Corona reigns.

But Jesus reigns!
