#BREM 😍 The picture below I took this afternoon on a wet and cold afternoon in the area of Meppel. In the foreground you can see brem still in bloom. In the background you can see a white “tower”: it is the former watchtower that gave a view of the surrounding terrain, where #atoomwapens of our American ally.
Between 1961 and 1992 nuclear missile heads were stored here for Dutch field artillery. First, there were heads for the #'Honest John' missile, later for the Lance missile. The Lance missile could be equipped with the W70 warhead (neutron bomb). The total power of the arsenal in Havelterberg was about 80 times the bomb on Hiroshima. In the mid-sixties I myself saw the guided projectile coming out of the bunkers: it was probably a test that the mechanism worked.
