#MOLENS 😍 The photo below I took iki a few years ago in one of our neighbouring municipalities... But where?

De Wieker Meule is a windmill on the Dorpsstraat in the Dutch province of Drenthe.

It is an octagonal rack mill dating from 1829, almost entirely covered with reeds and has fled a 22,50 meters.

For a long time (from 1926) the mill was owned by the #Co öperatieve Landbouwbank and a part on the ground floor served as a bank building at that time. From 1962 it was no longer used and fell into disrepair.

In 1980 the mill underwent a thorough restoration and has been owned by the Wieker Meule Foundation since 1996. A Tourist Info office and the local historical association are located in a room on the ground floor.
