Crafting Grumbling Sock Doll
To read the picture book Grumbling (Joyce Dunbar/ Lemniscaat B.V. Publishing House ) make even more fun now, you can make a Grumbling hand puppet out of a plain white sock ! Women's, men's or sports sock, with or without embossed, stripes or dots, it's all possible, if only white. I'm sure you've got them somewhere in your sock drawer.!
His beak can really open and close, you can move the beaks with your fingers. So grumbling is probably chatting along with you while reading aloud. Or would he just grumble? Making this grumbling sock doll is surprisingly easy!

This idea was submitted by Merel, but the credits for this sock pop creation are all for Bianca Bosker and Danielle van den Hoff. They are Bookstart consultants in kindergarten Bibliotheek Kennemerwaard. They like to highlight Bookstart and the Library 😉, so WITH THIS! Feel free to take a look at http://www.bibliotheekkennemerwaard.nl
Because this fun sock doll idea can be shared here, now all teachers, masters, parents and carers can easily make this moppersok by themselves! The Bianca and Danielle pattern can be found below. Isn't that super? The pattern consists of wing, legs and of course the beak. Save the 2 images and then print them from the saved folder. Cut out the parts before you start. Gluing with a glue gun is the easiest thing and then it is nice firm! Cut an elongated cardboard, in the same size as the sock
