A delicious recipe from Hello Fresh.

I often make pasta with fresh spinach and then a cheese sauce. This one was something else. The most surprising thing for me was that here, for 2 people, a whole fennel went through.

I know fennel tea, but I've never cooked with fennel before. Given the distinct smell, I was very nervous about whether I would use the whole fennel and what it would do with the meal.

However, this was a really great meal.

Daniel, my son from now just 16 months, liked the fennel very much. He always picks from a meal first what he likes best. In this case, it was first the minced meat. Then he tried the fennel and went through his whole plate looking for all the pieces of fennel. I've always learned that with the little ones you need to beware with fennel (and anise, basil, nutmeg and tarragon) associated with allylalkoxybenzenes. But with everything, I like to believe that if you do it in moderation, it will go well. As in this case with fennel. We never actually use it. So one time fennel, I don't think, should hurt.
