Uncooked macaroni is fun material to paste on paintings. Good for the motor skills, that fiddling with the crooked elbows, but if you have other pasta, you can do that too! Wockles, butterflies or other shapes, put it in trays and your child can choose what he/she wants! Here in Ede, my little niece has been busy sticking and painting a macaroni flower.

  • Draw a flower, heart or other simple shape with pencil on a canvas board or on a solid piece of cardboard
  • Glue in the figure, e.g. Creall Coll
  • Sprinkle macaroni (or other pasta/rice) on the glue
  • Leave to dry for half an hour, knock off the leftovers that are not stuck

Pat the paint with a sponge (e.g. Creall Top deco acrylic paint ) on the macaroni and let it dry, before you put it upright:)

Lots of crafting fun and remember, with a macaroni painting everything and nothing should be. Have you also made a macaroni or pasta piece and can the picture be shared here? Send the photo to ilse@deknutseljuf.nl
