Nowadays, the use of technology for various types of prints is very wide and this does not escape those involved in personalized cards, which are used in various products with brands or in a personalized way and which is called Flexographic Printing .

Flexographic printing is a printing system widely implemented worldwide, for printing personalized labels at high speed.

This is a traditional printing method that has been perfected over the years. Thanks to a set of evolutions in its pre-press and printing techniques.

Flexography is present in several markets, being today the most used printing system in Packaging, with various materials such as flexible packaging, corrugated cardboard, paper, compact cardboard and cardboard, sleeves, films, etc. Thanks to its advantages and features, it has seen significant growth in label production.

And how does the process work

This is a direct printing system (since the plate directly transfers the ink to the support) and mainly rotary (with rollers and material in reels of different sizes) in which flexible plates with high reliefs and a structure consisting mainly of rollers are used.

The word flexography comes from the Latin word “Flexus”, which means folded. The main advantage of flexographic printing is the ability to print on different substrates. When using this technique, flexible irons are used. Also known as cliché, which due to the high quality, are made of photopolymer, a durable material that allows finishes with greater detail. Rubber or rubber sheets are also used to make, for example, classic tampons.

Water-based inks currently used in flexography dry quickly by evaporation and are reliable in use for all types of coatings that come into direct contact with the product.

In other types of inks such as UV (ultraviolet), their polymerizations with lamps are also accepted for many products, but low-migration inks are required in food products. Currently, to save energy consumption and avoid ozone emission, UV LED inks are being implemented, which give very good results
