Finally found some time

Two weeks ago, I went to pick up 3 Dala horses from our local woodcarver, Marc, that I had carved out of pine wood. They are 28mm wide and should actually go towards 5cm wide to have the ratio nice, but good. We already have 3 and we'd better paint them, right? 🙂



What are Dala horses?


Dala horses are wooden horses that originally come from Sweden, since the 17th century. Lumberjacks made the horses at rest moments and then gave them to the children to play with. In Swedish, therefore, “Dalahäst”. The horses are given as a traditional gift, as home decoration and are a symbol of good luck.
