As a teacher I feel great sadness that education has declined in Venezuela, and especially how the fighting spirits of education professionals was lost, when the teacher was an example to follow and not those we see today who almost look like beggars with wages of misery. These and other factors forced me to resign from the ministry of education, for the loss of values in school and everything related to the education system.

We are guilty of allowing us to reach such a situation and the teaching (teachers' union) that has been manipulated by the current dictatorship, losing its principles of protecting and defending the Venezuelan education system by forgetting the values inherited by its founders, so today I remember a date that we must rescue not to celebrate but to use as a flag for the rescue of the Venezuelan education system and the values of our heroes of the homeland

In Venezuela, the 15th of January is the teacher's day A date in which the important work of the country's professionals, educators and educators is celebrated and which is used to remember great professors such as Andrés Bello and Luis Beltrán Prieto Figueroa, among others.

The origin of this day dates back to January 15, 1932 when the Society of Teachers of Primary Education was founded in Caracas with the aim of fighting for dignification and the rights of educators. However, it was not until 1936 that the institution convened the First National Magisterium Convention, from which the Venezuelan Federation of Teachers emerged.

Notable personalities such as the first president, Miguel Suniaga; Roberto Martínez Centeno or Luis Beltrán Prieto Figueroa.
Since then, members agreed to devise an official day that would promote educational values and respect for these essential figures in teaching. This commemoration also coincides with the date on which the Public and Compulsory Primary Instruction Decree was signed, during the presidency of Antonio Guzmán Blanco in 1870
