Day trip Burgers Zoo in Arnhem - Outings in the Netherlands with Children
Holiday in the Netherlands - Burgers Zoo
You can take so many fun days out from the Netherlands.! Our vacation isn't going through this year. Not Corona, but because our holiday park has been flooded by the enormous high water of recent times. Last year we held our 'world trip from our own garden', this year we are allowed to explore our own country again. We've walked a lot, and now I went to Burgers Zoo in Arnhem for a day with my girls. A special zoo because they've recreated a number of ecosystems in greenhouses that I really love. The bush in which you walk around a tropical rainforest, the 'desert' where I recognize a lot of Josua Tree National Park in America, the 'mangrove', and the 'Ocean' See my photo blog here:
Years ago I went to Burgers Bush a few times every year on an excursion with my classes. The 'bush' was rather new and more open than it is now. It was easier for you to spot animals than now. You'll hear a lot of things when you walk through the bush. chirp, whistle, sketter and shaker.
But the flowers are so beautiful. Leaves that make you feel like a gnome, blooming ears bigger than your own head! You walk through bridges, steps and narrow paths through the rainforest. As my girls said, “but here you don't have to be afraid of scary animals, because they're in a booth.! "
In the 'desert' I recognize so much of my holiday in America. There was my favorite park Josua Tree National Park. Not super touristy, so that's where you had the feeling of really discovering. Rattlesnakes and tarantulas for the tent. Walks at 40 degrees Celcius.
In Burgers they have recreated this very nicely in small, I think. Cacti, rocks, and warmth. Although that temperature changes, just like in the 'real' where it can cool down tremendously during the nights.
