It is only a small bird of about 15 cm. All the more, the nest it builds is impressive. The animal weighs 20 grams and is not picky when it comes to food.
He eats seeds, berries and insects.
There are two species: The Madagascar weaver bird and the Napoleon weaver bird. The weaver bird in the photo lives on the African island of Madagascar.
People have taken the bird to other island groups.
That is why this animal is now also found in the Amarant and, Comirs, Seychelles, Mauritius and Reunion.
