#didyouknow El Silbón is a legend that was born in the mid-nineteenth century in the state of La Portuguesa, within Venezuela.
He is a cursed specter who, after killing his father, has roamed the plain since ancient times. His frightful hiss is synonymous with death and misfortune, that is why they call him “El Silbón.” They say they have seen him especially in summer, a time when the Venezuelan savannah burns under the rigor of the drought and sits on the trunks of the trees.
The specter wanders hungry for death and eager to punish drunkards and womanizers and the occasional innocent victim. And it is that they say that drunkards suck their navel to drink the brandy they ingested and that the womanizers he tears apart and removes their bones and puts them in the sack where he keeps the remains of his father.
