Dildew, gone without chemicals...
Mildew is a fungus that causes a powdery white attack of the leafy green.
It is often recommended to spray the affected plants with a chemical and toxic fungicide. In grape cultivation, the leaves were used to be dusted with a sulphur product in order to avoid as many toxic residues as possible in the wine.
Since I suffered from this scourge during the care of the Bonsai, sometimes during damp hot days, I was looking for an environmentally friendly remedy. On the Internet, I found an interesting solution.
The French winegrowers spray milk in recent years. A dilution of 20% milk in water gives a satisfactory result. I now use this successfully on my Oak and Maple trees. The leaves get a healthy shine and the damage remains completely gone if the treatment is started early. Once the plant is completely affected, improvement is still possible, but healing becomes more difficult.
Of course you can apply this curative spray if a longer dry period is announced. Spray both on the top and on the bottom of the leaves.
