Discussion: Do you feel more depressed than before the pandemic?
Four out of ten feel more depressed than before the corona crisis: “We need to keep an eye on this.”
Joeri Vlemings - HLN.be
The above headline can be read today on Belgian news website HLN.be - Yes. The University of Antwerp has conducted a survey for the second Tuesday in a row, in which it is noticed that more and more people feel more depressed in their isolation than before we all had to stay “in our premises”.
How I am
Notwithstanding the fact that I am a real housesparrow, and since I suffer from a depression Even more so, I don't like not to be allowed out anymore -or amper-. Especially since I can't go to my parents on weekends. I miss them, I miss their pets. I miss that little bit of social contact I had. Since the beginning of this year I also started fitness. That too is now falling out, as all fitness matters have closed their doors. The step to do a workout at home is difficult to take, I find myself. In terms of mood it goes quite tentatively. We've only been in isolation for a little less than a month. I have my friend with me, I can play games, I feel like blogging again, and I can do a little daily polishing - Yes. I like this rhythm. I feel cautiously “okay”. I know this may not be permanent, but I cherish every minute I don't feel suicidal.
How are you?
In the comments, tell me how you are doing. Do you need a chat? Do you miss social contact, or are you just happy not to have a noise around you for a moment? Do you miss your job? What do you miss most now that you're in isolation?
I like to hear it! Together, we help each other.
