Do politics?

#politics The natural reaction to this question could be one of aversion and/or rejection. And surely that refusal could be expected, especially after the events that, as a country, regardless of location or social status, we have had to face over the past few weeks. Politics is blamed from all the shores and looks like a cursed word in any environment. But it is necessary to remember that politics, its origins and concepts seek to exalt man, highlight his rights and remember his duties, beyond filiation to a party, whatever it may be.

Politics requires vocation and its maximum quality is service. However, we have seen years ago the deplorable behaviors of many of those who exercise it and we are sure that this is not the example for some young people who are hard preparing or feeling the call to serve their communities and the country.

The analysis of some examples of overcoming and political, economic and social consolidation is a delight for experts and public opinion in general. What happens in our minds when we read the names of the following countries: Finland, Denmark, New Zealand, Norway or even some that a few decades ago were synonymous with devastation and today are essential powers for the development of not only their continents but the whole world such as Germany or Japan?

However, we must admit that the degree of complexity of the decisions of world leaders reached an unimaginable level over a year ago when the pandemic was a reality that came to us without instructions; the uncertainty of our time at its best. In Colombia, the situation worsened as a social crisis broke out that had been incubating for decades.

We cannot and should not wait for more people or more companies to die, as the country and the future die. And if this happens, it is because we will not have understood the true and crucial purpose of our ally: politics well understood and exercised.
