Do Travel Agents Get Free Trips?

Yes: travel agents CAN travel free

There are a few situations that would allow tourism professionals to travel for free. In a previous article, I discussed how 4 travel agents come out of their pockets to pay for their trip. In this I will explain how they also thank until they leave for free.

Booking Teams Can Get Free Passes

There are group booking incentives (the fact that group travel is a very lucrative booking in the tourism industry should be an adequate incentive). If an agent books a lot of rooms (hotel) or cabinets (on a cruise ship), the cold finds a free room or closet or money (excluding a commission) that they can use around their room or cabinet. Of course all of this depends on the vendor group policy, the amount required and who is assigned as a team leader.

You do not really have to be a travel agent to get the benefits I mentioned above. If you are not a travel agent and you decide to book a team, if you are a team leader, you may receive these benefits (ask your travel agent to tell you that in advance). This is the only way (other than the regular traveler plan) where a non-travel agent can get the benefits extended to them ... so if you want to get the benefits out of your trip ... think in groups!

Tourism Competitions

Another way an agent can be free may be based on the sales volume of a particular building or area. Some tourism retailers and agencies may offer free travel to top agents as incentives or rewards for sales performance. These types of prizes are offered as content too! I have seen some really unusual places, living a fully paid trip to Costa Rica (wow!) Provided by the winners of my agency competition, which makes it really helpful to try to find your vendors.

Travel Perks Can Be Good

Sometimes agents can take advantage of ‘courtesies’ or extended benefits, which is an added benefit of being in the tourism industry. We call it courtesy because no retailer is obliged to maximize profits just because a travel expert presents them that way. If a room upgrade option or car rental upgrade is available, agents will first ask if this is the case, and it is up to the dealer to extend the free services, services or benefits to legitimate service providers. These benefits can include shows, tour tickets, tours and much more.

Free Long-Term Agent Agents

This is my favorite part of being a home based travel expert! Of course everything is free in the long run! How is that? Travel professionals are officially allowed to cancel their trip 100%. Yes, they can, so whether you are a travel agent or a travel agent, you are in the travel business, making all your travels 100% tax deductible. So if you are a travel agent, the key is to write down your trip and save your receipts so you can officially cancel your trip at the end of the tax year!

To sum up, there are 4 main ways that travel agents can travel for free:

1. Booking groups and obtaining room, cabinet, or cash credit
2. Agency and Seller Contests
3. Benefits and development
4. Close your trip 100%
