Do you keep the promises you make?

Every year we end up making promises and we feel encouraged and willing to keep them. Of course it is !

We share these promises in an internal dialogue with ourselves, family and friends. So we can say: “This next year I will: lose weight, stop smoking, save for the trip of my dreams, start a business, among many other things.

But. As the whole year goes by. we realized that we didn't do anything, we just did it halfway or we started our super plan but abandoned it halfway.

According to the Royal Spanish Academy (RAE), by promise we can understand that it is the “Solemn Offer that makes a person perform a certain duty with righteousness and fidelity, using a fixed formula”

Based on this definition, we can say that a dilemma arises between what we promise and what we actually end up doing.

Without a doubt, the definition of promise is perfect. However, everything will depend on your determination in the face of the promise you made to yourself and to other people.

Adverse circumstances may prevent you from delivering on what you promise, but this is not always the case. Most of the time, the lack of fidelity and righteousness that you owe to yourself sabotages the process.

It is possible that if we try again, we will fail again. We are in the application of theory and error. Although it is not our intention to stay in that cycle. Let's move forward!

We are beings of free will, it is important that our word has more weight than a signed contract. Have you already made the promises you want to make for this coming year?

They say a promise is a debt. Keeping the promises you make says a lot about your personality. However, no one is perfect.
