#weetjenog The screenplay for the film is loosely based on the criminal life of two outlaws from the Wild West, Robert LeRoy Parker, better known as Butch Cassidy, and Harry Longabaugh, nicknamed the “Sundance Kid”. The film was a cash success in the cinemas and raised 48.6 million dollars in the US alone.
The film was nominated seven times for an Oscar and won four. In 2003, the film was selected for conservation in the National Film Registry of the American Library of Congress for its cultural, historical and aesthetic value.
