There John Coffey, a gentle giant of a prisoner with supernatural powers, conveys a spirit of inner strength and humanity to the guards and to his fellow prisoners. Tom Hanks heads a stellar company (including Michael Clarke Duncan as Coffey) in this moving, hopeful story of guards and detainees; husbands; prisoners and an unusual mouse named Mr. Jingles; and on another level, of a filmmaker and his source of inspiration. That filmmaker is Frank Darabont, who's back after The Shawhank Redemption.
