Because after death, there is nothing left, no heaven and no hell.

Why should they be tortured? if that is a domain of “the bad” and is ruled by a bad person, why would he torture people ?

You're allowed to sort of evaluate your life, see what went right and wrong. Where there are still learning points. The only hell is here on Earth, and it is often created by other people.
