Dot Painting on stones
Putting dots is a traditional art technique that comes from the Aboriginals from Australia. Originally there was a dot to tell a story, the dots are applied in all kinds of symbols that mean everything. Painting with dots (dotpainting) was done there on rocks, wood, on the skin and other materials. Only later did they go dotten on canvas. Dotten (putting the dots) is done with acrylic paint and a stick, twig, satay stick or other materials with a round tip.

If you want the acrylic paint to become beautiful drops and adhere well to the stone, it is convenient to use Pouring Medium. The acrylic paint becomes a bit more fluid and creamy so you can dot nicer!

Method:
- Find beautiful, smooth stones and clean them well
- Paint them a base color with acrylic paints, e.g. from Creall
- Mix acrylic paint and pouring together, ratio 1 to 1
- Stir well and add a few drops of water until it has βyoghurt thicknessβ
- Dot with e.g. the back of a brush or satstick so that it becomes small dotjes
- The back of a nail or pencil is also suitable for dotten
