Today April 12 is Dutch Overshoot Day: The day Earth Overshoot Day would take place if everyone in the world lived like us. Between 1 January and 12 April, we would have used as much raw materials as the Earth can regenerate in a whole year. This is determined based on the latest dates of the National Footprint and Biocapacity Accounts published by the Footprint Data Foundation in collaboration with Global Footprint Network and York University, Toronto.

Earth Overshoot Day of Ecological Debt day is the day of a given year when - counted from 1 January - humanity has used up as many of Earth's raw materials, foodstuffs and the like worldwide as what the Earth can recover and produce waste in one year can process.

Earth Overshoot Day is the day when humanity has used more of nature than Earth can regenerate in a whole year (July 29, 2021).

The Dutch Overshoot Day is the day when the annual bio capacity of our planet is consumed if everyone on Earth would live like Dutch people (April 12 in 2022).

Natural Capital Day is the day on which the annual bio capacity of the Netherlands was consumed by our residents (19 February 2022).
