Efteling 70 years...
I once wrote a poem about “Holle Bolle Gijs” from the Efteling for an open application.
Unfortunately, on May 31, 2017, my proposal to present a collection of poems to commemorate 65 years: “World of Miracles” was rejected.
“Hollow Convex Grey”
“Paper here! Paper here!”
Tears jump in my eyes, “Grandpa, grandpa again”.
Touched, I feel moved and slap my eyes down for a moment.
Thoughts go back, I was just a kid.
Hollow Bolle Gijs, gosh how did I love you.
My eye was just for you and like a crow I always flew around.
I looked in all pockets, in the woods and on the ground.
With a slight irritation,
my mother called to me many times.
“Come we have to move on”,
but I I was never tired of you!
Now I'm Grandpa and I certainly haven't forgotten you.
I'm Grandpa Gijs, at least that's how my granddaughter sees it.
Lying on my knees, enjoying emotionally
of her pleasure,
I call out your words: “Paper here!”
Maybe I should include this poem in Life Lessons part 3 so as not to let a piece of nostalgia go to waste.?
Anyway, I congratulate the #Efteling with this great anniversary and many thanks for so many great years for young and old.
