Los Patacones es una de las comidas típicas del Estado Zulia en Venezuela. Una de sus formas lo podemos encontrar en todo el Caribe: Colombia, República Dominicana, Panamá, ecuador entre otros, el llamado Tostón, que es una rebanada aplanada y frita de plátano verde (plátano macho verde) que se sirve como contorno.
El Patacón Zuliano se diferencia, ya que se utilizan dos piezas grandes de plátano aplanado y es relleno, parecido a un Sandwich.
