The highest mountain of all Spanish territory is located on the Canary Island of Tenerife: El Teide volcano .
The island is very popular for winter sun holidays, but also in summer it attracts many tourists.
But in the middle of the island stands a dormant volcano..

With his 3718 m above sea level, its peak in clear weather is even visible from Gran Canaria Island. Very often, however, the whole mountain area is hidden behind a pack of clouds.
Don't let that stop you from visiting the national park, because often you rise above those clouds once you reach the tree line! (See photo below. It's a very distinctive view.)
