Elmer is a cheerful elephant with a skin like a colourful patchwork, fond of 'practical jokes'. Recognizable themes (being different, fear, hugs, running away) and fairy tale elements (Butterfly saves Elmer). The atmosphere is safe despite common teasing: all animals are searching for the lost bear, because without a hug you can't sleep
A beautiful lead role for Elmer who can help children with different aspects in their lives. And the great thing is that this Elmer has been around for more than 25 years... this year he will even be 30! I'm sure writer David Mckee didn't foresee that Elmer would get such a fame in the lives of many children.
