Emperador bomb

The Tsar's bomb was the largest and most destructive nuclear bomb ever detonated by human beings, exceeding 50MT (Megatons), was developed by the Soviet Union and detonated on 30 October 1961 as a test or demonstration. It was launched in New Zembla, a Russian archipelago located in the Arctic Ocean, at an altitude of 4km. The bomber plane had to be modified in order to leave the explosion zone without being affected by the expansive sling.

When the pump immediately detonated the temperature directly below and around the detonation rose millions of degrees. The pressure under the explosion was 211,000 mg (megatons) per square meter, more than ten thousand times what is in a car tyre. The light energy released was so powerful that the explosion could be seen even at a distance of 1000 km, with cloudy sky. The shockwave was powerful enough to break thick glass even more than 900 km from the explosion, and was recorded on three different occasions around the Earth. The mushroom cloud produced by the explosion rose to an altitude of 64 km before leveling. The thermal energy was so large that it could have caused third degree burns to a person who was 100 km away from the explosion.

It was even much bigger than the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs (dropped in World War II)

To date, no bomb has been registered with greater destructive power than the Tsar's bomb
