Poas volcano is probably one of the measure eruptions and most impressive since 1910. Steam and ash can still be seen spewing from the mountain tops regularly. Therefore the other volcanoes in this region are Tenorio in Guanacaste, Rincon de la Vieja, Arenal in the northern lowlands and Irazu and Turrialba in the central highlands.
