Holiday in the Netherlands - Burgers Zoo
You can take so many fun days out from the Netherlands.! Our vacation isn't going through this year. Not Corona, but because our holiday park has been flooded by the enormous high water of recent times. Last year we held our 'world trip from our own garden', this year we are allowed to explore our own country again. We've walked a lot, and now I went to Burgers Zoo in Arnhem for a day with my girls. A special zoo because they've recreated a number of ecosystems in greenhouses that I really love. The bush in which you walk around a tropical rainforest, the 'desert' where I recognize a lot of Josua Tree National Park in America, the 'mangrove', and the 'Ocean' See my photo blog here:
Years ago I went to Burgers Bush a few times every year on an excursion with my classes. The 'bush' was rather new and more open than it is now. It was easier for you to spot animals than now. You'll hear a lot of things when you walk through the bush. chirp, whistle, sketter and shaker.
But the flowers are so beautiful. Leaves that make you feel like a gnome, blooming ears bigger than your own head! You walk through bridges, steps and narrow paths through the rainforest. As my girls said, “but here you don't have to be afraid of scary animals, because they're in a booth.! "
In the 'desert' I recognize so much of my holiday in America. There was my favorite park Josua Tree National Park. Not super touristy, so that's where you had the feeling of really discovering. Rattlesnakes and tarantulas for the tent. Walks at 40 degrees Celcius.
In Burgers they have recreated this very nicely in small, I think. Cacti, rocks, and warmth. Although that temperature changes, just like in the 'real' where it can cool down tremendously during the nights.
You can see the ecosystem beautifully in the Mangrove. Water, Heat, Moisture. Lots of butterflies that you don't get so easy on the picture. Wonderful to see. You just heard these crabs eat. The females eat with two hands, very fast and you hear snip snip snip . The males are a bit 'around', because they have very large scissors to impress, and they eat with small scissors, while the big scissors swayed a bit. There were also sea cows swam around, and those crabs, which are so special, just swimming soldier helmets!
Sometimes you get beautiful photos when your camera focuses differently than you have in your head.! The plan was to focus in the background, you see the antelope lying there.? haha!
But the camera focused on the plumes in the foreground, and I think it has become a very nice picture.
In the outdoor areas of the zoo, you also have beautiful areas. You can really walk around all day and discover new animals over and over again. Of course, there are also some playgrounds for the kids and lovely outdoor cafes to rest from all the impressions.
The animals remain beautiful, flamingos. Not to see which legs and necks belong to which bird, but together such a beautiful whole.
Here are some beautiful portraits of beautiful, powerful animals.
This kid was lurking as if he wanted to jump something.
I went for this too, the young rhinoceros! About half a year. So a pity that these animals are thrown purely in front of their horn in nature.! The beauty of zoos is that it's a big source of education. Teaching children to admire, learn the value of animals in nature. They see why it's important to be economical on our globe.!
This little zebra - foal was already exploring the “world”. She walked all alone with aunt giraffe. What a beautiful little animal!
“Oooooooh, Aaaaaaah, Cute, O.M.G mom how cute!!!!” were my girls' reactions. A baby - Meerkat. One of my favorite animals at the zoo! I always spend some time with that.! So fun.
A door closed somewhere, making the Meerkats all of a sudden alert again. Some were in the typical attitude, and the little ones went into the corridors underground.
The penguins were allowed to swim again in the afternoon after their bath was filled again. Always fun, those awkward birds.
