Summer in France - day 2: From Tulle to Puichéric.
It's wonderful waking up at Manoir XV Domaine de Peyrafort with the view of the city of Tulle from our hill.
I feel like a real princess in my four-poster bed, but it stays with this one night. We are in the Corrèze. Our destination today is in the French department of Aude, named after the river of the same name. It is the area of the Cathars, with many of their fortresses. We're gonna stay there for a week.
We take the motorway for an hour, to make a little bit of speed. But after an hour we are already tired of it because there is nothing to see. At Caussade we drive off. We follow the smaller, but so many more beautiful roads. Beyond Gaillac we are again on a panoramic route. The following pictures were taken by the car window during our ride.
In Castres we drive off our road, assuming that it is a medieval town, to stretch our legs and find a restaurant. However, it turns out to be a rather boring city with little beauty to see. We drive around, but soon see that it's not what we thought. We decide to continue to Mazamet. It's much nicer there. We find a place to order a menu. Again we notice that the service in the restaurant does not wear mouth masks. We decide to sit outside on the terrace.
We continue our way south. You pass along the Lac des Montagnès and drive off the road again to walk around. It's pretty busy there. There are beaches and there is possibility to do water sports.
