Recipe tip from Mrs. Dot... Chicken spinach package...

Sometimes you just have to try something out... with this surprise package you let your family feast and it looks fun too.

What do you need for this oven dish?

An (elongated) baking mould
Lean bacon sliced (enough to cover your shape completely)
Fresh spinach
Béchamel sauce to which you add herb cheese
Fine pieces of chicken breast
Grated cheese
Possibly roasted pine nuts


1. Make Béchamel sauce and stir in a small flea of herb cheese.

2. Cover a baking tray with pieces of bacon, overlapping work.

3. Put washed leaves of spinach on the bacon.

4. On this come the fine pieces of chicken.

5. Back a layer of spinach.

6. And on top a layer of herb cheese sauce.

7. Repeat steps 3 through 6 until your shape is well filled.

8. Fold the bacon covers all over and put it in your preheated oven at 200°C.

9. After 30 minutes remove the baking tray from the oven, sprinkle grated cheese and put it back in the oven at 200°C for another 10 minutes.

Cut a thick slice of the meat and serve with boiled potatoes (cooked without salt as the bacon in the dish is already salty) and a salad of fresh spinach to which still roasted pine nuts can be added.
