Lighting next to the Bible

In the time of the Enlightenment, a trio concept was introduced in France a few centuries ago. The new system of standards and values for human life was supposedly summarized in the three words equality, freedom and fraternity.

This was the modern counterpart to the biblical trio concept of faith, hope and love. This system, which is obsolete by human standards, has hitherto been based on the morality of European human beings.
