For fine motor skills and because it's just fun, kids can be creative with. the beaded shelf! The bead shelf is not a real (wooden) shelf but a plastic shelf with pins. You can put fun figures on it, with large beads.

In schools, there is a lot of use of beadboards to practice colors, shapes and counting. The colored plastic beads are placed on the pins, and when the figure is ready, the beads go back and another (new) figure can be laid. Of course it is fun, if the figure can be admired first, by teacher, master, carers or the other children.

The laying of the beads can be done in several ways:

1. Place the example next to the shelf. Look at the example and try to recreate the figure. That's not very easy, because you have to look closely and count where and which bead you put down.
