Fashion masks vs. sanitary
Unlike sanitary masks, designer masks are reusable. In fact, this is the great advantage they offer over sanitary facilities, since they can mostly be washed or disinfected with a solution of water and alcohol.
In addition, we must bear in mind that they are “barrier” type masks. That is, they are appropriate to offer a certain level of protection on the street, but they are not recommended if we belong to risk groups, are infected (or live with someone) or work in healthcare environments.
Lastly, the vast majority of those that have been launched have solidarity purposes that allocate part of their profits to charitable causes that may or may not be related to the new coronavirus crisis. A curious phenomenon is that of the masks of haute couture firms that have proliferated on numerous internet sites in the form of counterfeits. Surfing social media, it's easy to come across ads for masks from Gucci, Loui Vuitton, Chanel, Balenciaga or Fendi, with designs elaborate with their most characteristic logos and prints.
