Facebook tried in 2017 to use certain parts of the spyware Pegasus of spyware company NSO, explains the director of the Israeli espionage company in court, according to Motherboard reports.
The two companies face each other in the US court after Facebook sued NSO in October for abuse of its WhatsApp servers. Five months earlier, it was announced that a vulnerability in WhatsApp was used to install the espionage software Pegasus on smartphones.
NSO formally only sells its software to governments in the fight against terrorism and serious crime. The company has come under attack because customers also use the software against activists, journalists and lawyers. #Facebook
