This dragon is made of a cardboard box, a papier-mache head and pieces of cardboard for the wings. The fire-breathing dragon is super fun to use for a play at school, decoration for a theme table or as a surprise during Santa Claus. Maybe for your talk about dragons? You will definitely score points with that!

Janine Zuidema is a huge craft fan and makes a lot of fun crafts with her son. She sent this craft to The Craft Teacher, very nice! This is of course a great and inspiring project to show you here!

Make the head two days in advance, because papier-mache really needs to dry for a while. In the meantime, you can start the body. First, make sure that the base is completely right and stick with paper tape the wings to it. Only then paint everything with an ordinary acrylic paint. Use two or three colors of green, which makes it more vivid. Make strips of crepe paper for the fire effect and attach a rope to your dragon so you can walk with it!

Did you also make something fun and would you like to share this with us? Send your photos to ilse@deknutseljuf.nl, so we inspire each other. Creativity is something special, it's wonderful to be creative!
