Renesmee was too mad and upset at Jacob to stay with him. So she decided not to bother him anymore and began walking home all by herself. She could care less if it was considered dangerous by her family. She had roughly memorized the way back and was sure she could handle the challenge. After all, wasn't she a big girl? And big girls challenged themselves and accepted such without any hesitation.
On her way home, however, she realized that it was still considered early for her to be home. Since she had nothing else to do, she decided to go to the centre of the town and hang out by herself. A new internet-bookstore-cafe had opened and she had wanted to check it out ever since she had heard about its opening.
The centre of the town was lovely, with colourful buildings and flowers on every window. Renesmee wished her family would let her go out more. What were they so afraid of? She wouldn't harm a human. She loved humans like her grandfather Charlie and grandmother Sue. She loved wolf people like Jacob too.
Thinking about Jacob, she couldn't help but wonder why was he stuck with her and her family instead of living his life and following his dreams. He was young, his whole existence was right in front of him, especially since as long as they shifted into their wolf forms regularly, shapeshifters ceased to age. And to the strangers, Jacob looked like he was old enough to be in grad school. If Renesmee was in his shoes, for sure she would use all of this to her advantage and explore the world. But, no. She was cursed to be stuck with her parents for the rest of eternity... or so it seemed.
Entering the coffee shop, she was immediately hit with a smell of old books - one of her most favourite ones. She put her hand in her pocket to check how much money she had, hoping it would be enough to use a computer there and check her messages. No one was going to stop her talk to Theo - she enjoyed discussing different topics with him. She found him to be incredibly intelligent, different than most guys around her. Theo felt almost like he was part of the coven she was born and raised in. She swore if she invited him over, he would immediately bond with the male vampires - discussing history and conspiracy theories.
A smile had formed on her face as she was bouncing on her feet while paying for Internet access. Just the thought of chatting online with her new friend was bringing her internal joy that she hadn't felt in ages, not even when her mother would burst into her bedroom to announce that Jacob or somebody else was coming over to see her or take her out.
She had barely waited for the computer and then for the browser and the website to load and exhaled in relief when she saw that she had a new message from Theo, who was recommending her a documentary that had opened his eyes about what the world was really like. Promising to check it out as soon as possible, she took a mental note of the long name of it and proceeded to ask him about his day.
anything new?
no, not really. how about you?
same here. sorry about replying so late, my parents actually grounded me and i can't use my phone, so i tried using my friend's phone but he got mad and now i am stuck using a computer in a public place
i see. why would they all get mad at you?
my parents grounded me because they thought i was stuffing my face like a pig and apparently i was too much of an embarrassment for them to handle -.- why do they care about their reputations so much?! just live your life and stop caring about what everybody else is going to say about you, duh!
agree so much
and my friend was upset that i was talking to you because he assumed you were a paedophile -.-
technically, your friend is right - the internet is not a safe place. you know, cornelius lindsey once said: " social media is a dangerous place to seek affirmation, acceptance, identity and security."
yeah, but online you can read many different stories and learn new things, right? like, about that documentary you saw - you found it online, didn't you? so the internet is not the worst place ever.
internet is not the worst place, but i was talking about social media. social media is the real devil. it blinds people. it turns the most innocent souls into heartbroken and miserable failures. and don't let me start on these influencers who do everything only for money and attention.
tell me more about it
you don't seem to use social media a lot, do you? i stopped using most of it as soon as i opened my eyes. of course, you can't escape every social media or internet site that you disagree with. after all, humans are social creatures.
What about the supernatural creatures? What are we then? , she mentally questioned herself, assimilating Theo's words. She could understand his point of view. But she needed to know more about everything. She wished her parents hadn't isolated her so much during her life. She felt like she had grown up in a bubble, not knowing the truth about the world around her, only seeing what her family wanted her to see.
She was glad that she had met Theo - it seemed that she could learn a lot from him.
